Revisiting the great look book for Wildfox, Spring 2011, but in watercolour!
As well as fashion and beauty, I love drawing food and drink. Something about drawing cakes in particular makes me so happy but without the calories, and this isn’t the first time I’ve drawn a kitchen’s worth of cupcakes.
The Hummingbird Bakery in London make the most beautiful and delicious American style cakes, and their cookbooks allow me to have a Hummingbird fix when I’m not in London.
Along with the Kenzo beauty look from their S/S collection which I illustrated here, here are some other makeup looks from major designers this year so far. My overall impression of beauty from most major collections this year is there being a focus on perfect dewy skin, contouring, natural makeup and natural eyebrows, but there were a few statement exceptions which I covered here, as pops of bright colours or graphic eyeliner shapes were still fairly common. False eyelashes were (if used at all) usually very delicate and natural-looking ones apart from the 60s looking individual lashes used in the Jeremy Scott collection. The only collection were I noticed a strong eye AND strong lip was Fendi, who teamed a dramatic use of eyeliner along with a rose gold glitter lip.
I did a little write up about each look under the cut below to go into more detail. I hope that it inspires you over the summer, as a few of these are very wearable, and even some of the more theatrical looks would be great for the right occasion.
